Some medical conditions or medications can interfere with the body’s ability to absorb biotin from the digestive system. Injections can bypass this issue and deliver the vitamin directly into the bloodstream.

Some individuals with biotin deficiency may experience hair loss, eczema, dermatitis, acne and other skin problems, where injections can help to address this.

What is a Biotin injection?

A Biotin injection is a nutritional supplement procedure, where a high dose of Biotin is administered directly into the bloodstream.

Biotin injections are now available in private clinics for purported health and wellness benefits.

The Biotin nutritional supplement is administered intramuscularly directly into your bloodstream, where nutrients act with immediacy.

When a Biotin injection is administered, the vitamin dissolves in the bloodstream and is quickly distributed throughout the body. This allows for rapid absorption and utilisation by the cells.

This method, where nutrients directly enter the bloodstream, accelerates the effectiveness of treatment, unlike supplements given via the digestive system.

Biotin is water-soluble, which means that it dissolves in water and can be easily absorbed by the body.

Unlike fat-soluble vitamins, which are stored in the body’s tissues, excess Biotin is typically excreted through the urine, therefore considered to be safe.

Who administers the Biotin injection?

A fully qualified, experienced and competent practitioner will administer the Biotin injection.

How is the Biotin prepared and administered?

The Biotin glass ampule is stored in the refrigerator until such time as it will be administered. The supplement is prepared just before being administered for the best quality possible.

A sterile station is prepared for the administration of the Biotin injection. The top is snapped off the glass ampule, then Biotin is dawn up into a syringe and the appropriate sterile needle is attached.

The injection site is sterilised and the intramuscular injection of Biotin is administered into the Deltoid muscle in the side of the upper arm. The procedure is very quick, though a short, sharp pain during the injection may be felt.

Why consider a Biotin injection and what will it help?

A Biotin deficiency can occur if your body is unable to absorb the vitamin from your diet or if you are not consuming enough of it. A number of factors which can contribute to a Biotin deficiency, these include:

  • Tiredness
  • Low in mood
  • Over worked
  • Moderate to high levels of stress
  • Hair thinning
  • Dermatitis
  • Acne
  • Pregnancy
  • Alcoholism

Does it hurt?

The actual procedure is very quick. A short, sharp pain during the injection may be felt, though every individual has varied pain threshold to the needle insertion action.

Care is taken to make it as comfortable as possible.

As with all injections there may be some mild temporary discomfort and redness in the direct injection site post needle insertion, which subsides quickly.

How many sessions do I need?

This depends very much on what condition you are treating and its severity. For long-standing conditions, a minimum of 3 treatments is required taken every two to 4 weeks, to ensure the best outcome. A monthly top up can be administered to maintain results.

How quickly will I see the results?

Vitamin B7 (Biotin) can start to work straight away. However, it may take a few days or weeks before your Biotin levels and symptoms start to improve.

How long will the results last?

Biotin injection is an affective nutritional supplement and results are usually long term, depending on factors such as underlying health issues, how one cares for oneself post procedure, stress, hormone influences, and lifestyle. Once the patient’s goal has been attained, maintenance treatments may be scheduled either monthly, quarterly or yearly.

Are Biotin injections safe?

What our customers say

Emporium has been my facial clinic for the past 15 years, I have tried many of their facial options. I recently had the Nlite Rejuvenation laser facial…

All the girls are lovely and the working environment is friendly.

What our customers say

I visited the clinic last week for a deep cleanse facial and milia removal. The milia was rather large and had unfortunately become irritated, inflamed and sore. Angela was fantastic and I couldn’t believe how quickly she removed it. She made sure there was as little discomfort as possible, and talked me through everything she was doing. My skin felt wonderful after the facial also!

I really appreciated Angela giving me advice prior to my appointment, and checking up on how my skin was healing after.

Great personable service that I fully recommend.
