Polynucleotide Treatments
Polynucleotides are a chain of nucleotides, the building blocks of DNA that are administered into the skin for regenerative aesthetics purpose.
A new approach in regenerative aesthetics that promotes, cellular regeneration in collagen and elastin production to lift and firm the skin. They attract water molecules to boost hydration and an anti-oxidant environment to promote skin healing and repair.
Polynucleotide intradermal route is a medical procedure that consists of localised micro-injections into the skin to correct multiple ageing and scar concerns.
Polynucleotide skin treatment is a procedure that uses the Mesotherapy Gun device to provide the intradermal route in medical grade Polynucleotide ‘XDNA’; it measures the depth of each micro-injection in an accurate, controlled and safe way into the dermis.
The action of the needle triggers a physical reaction to further stimulate the production of natural collagen within the skin to promote skin repair and regeneration.
Visually improves the appearance of the skin.

What will it involve?
Your skin care practitioner will complete a confidential, in-depth consultation, from which all your aspects of your skin concerns are discussed. The detailed consultation will establish your skin type, condition, and your skin care improvement goals, all of which will determine the most suitable treatment option and planning to suit your skin.
For optimum skin improvement Polynucleotide treatment may be best taken in conjunction with a skin resurfacing or exfoliation treatment such as a Micro-dermabrasion & LED, Fresh Up Light or a Chemical Skin Peel to lift layers of unwanted dead skin cells’ improving the surface of the skin. The Polynucleotide treatment will repair the deeper layers of the skin’s structures.
The treatment will commence with a skin cleanse preparation, the micro-injections of the Polynucleotide ‘XDNA’ active ingredient is then administered into the skin.
The Mesotherapy action of the needle triggers a physical action in the dermal structures, whereby it can be ‘tricked’ into producing new collagen in response to the perceived injury.
This process instantly increases cellular and hydration regeneration, improving tired, dull, dehydrated skin, fine lines, wrinkles, open pores and acne scars, leaving the skin feeling instantly rejuvenated, supple, smoother, fresh and glowing.
The procedure can also be adapted for body concerns.
Who is our supplier of the Polynucleotide active ingredient?
Mesoestetic mesohyl
mesohyl is the most extensive range of medical grade, sterile active ingredients for intradermal administration; CE marking, guarantee of safety and efficacy.
The mesohyl ‘XDNA’ is the specific Polynucleotide vial which is derived from salmon sperm and purified for aesthetic purpose.
With a prior diagnosis, your skin care practitioner will evaluate your needs and will select the most appropriate additional ingredients that may accompany the Polynucleotide ‘XDNA’ to be applied to produce customised combinations.
Exclusive formulas with active ingredients of recognised efficacy and compatible with other medical procedures such as botulinum toxin and fillers.
The range of solutions include: Polynucleotide ‘XDNA’, NCTC 109, Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin C, Organic Silicon, DMAE, Oligoelements, Carnitine, Artichoke, Melilot and Biotin.
Why have the procedure?
Once Polynucleotide ‘XDNA’ is injected into the skin, they act as a biological stimulant. They trigger your body’s natural healing and regenerative processes to improve:
- Collagen production
- Skin elasticity
- Signs of ageing
- Fine lines
- Wrinkles
- Sun-damaged skin
- Acne scaring
- Scars
- Dull, dry skin
- Hydration
- Skin texture
When combined with other mesohyal formulas it can provide benefits to include:
- Pigmentation disorders
- Stretch marks
Areas of the face and body Polynucleotides can be administered?
Forehead – Polynucleotides can be used as an alternative treatment option to anti-wrinkle injections to promote smoother skin and reduced fine lines.
Eyes – Polynucleotides regenerative and healing properties can aid the reduction of puffiness and dark under-eyes, as well as plump out hollows underneath the eyes, Crow’s feet and fine lines.
Cheeks – Polynucleotides administered into the cheeks promotes a lifting and tightening affect. The Polynucleotides boost skin hydration, thus an instant skin glow.
Around the mouth/chin: Polynucleotides have the incredible regenerative properties that smooth lines around the mouth without plumping or adding volume. Ideal for those ageing and smokers’ lines.
Jawline – Polynucleotides aid skin tightens and a lift which helps to define the jawline.
Neck – Treats fine lines and crepey-looking skin.
Decollete – Treats fine lines and crepey-looking skin.
Scars – Polynucleotides have the incredible regenerative properties smooth scar tissue.
Does it hurt?
Each individual has varied pain threshold to the needling action. Care is taken to make it as comfortable as possible. An anesthetic cream may be applied where applicable.
How many treatments do I need?
A single treatment will provide an instant skin rejuvenation effect. A course of treatments would be advised for more problematic ageing and skin concerns where we advise a course of 3 to 5 treatments taken every 2 to 4 weeks to provide effective results and the longevity of the skin results.
How quickly will I see the results?
You will see results immediately after a single treatment and progressively over a series of treatments as the new collagen and elastin molecules mature into a well organised matrix in the dermal layer of the skin, smoothing out fine lines, wrinkles, open pores and scars, along with overall improvements in skin tone, sun-damage and ageing skin.
How long will the results last?
Commencing a single treatment the skin will appear taught, bright and more youthful for several days and up to several months commencing a course of treatments.
However this depends on many factors, such as how one cares for their skin post treatment to include diet, stress, hormone influences and lifestyle.
Is there any down time or other considerations?
Polynucleotides administered into the skin are considered a safe treatment with minimal side effects. Generally, these side effects may include skin redness, mild swelling or on a rare occasion a bruise at the injection site. Typically, these resolve within a few days.
It is important to recognise, this is a medical treatment and therefore it is important to consult with a qualified skincare professional to discuss your suitability and potential risks by undertaking this treatment. A consultation will provide the opportunity to address any concerns you may have, expected results, downtime and aftercare.
Vegans may need to consider this treatment as the Polynucleotide ‘XDNA’ is derived from salmon fish sperm.
Why consider Polynucleotide over Hyaluronic Acid procedures like Profhilo?
Hyaluronic Acid and Profhilo, a type of Hyaluronic Acid procedure, and Polynucleotide are popular injectable treatment options for skin boosting and rejuvenation. However, it is important to know that Polynucleotide and Hyaluronic Acid made up of different structures that work in the skin in very different ways.
Polynucleotides specifically target stimulating the production of collagen and elastin, the proteins that give skin its structure and elasticity. This can lead to a more long-lasting improvement in skin texture, firmness, and wrinkle reduction. Hyaluronic Acid and Profhilo procedures, while promoting some collagen production, primarily focuses on deep hydration.
Polynucleotides go beyond just filling wrinkles. They promote cell regeneration and improve skin health overall, potentially benefiting concerns like sun damage and acne scars. Hyaluronic Acid and Profhilo procedures primary target is hydration and subtle volumisation.
Polynucleotide treatments tend to have longer-lasting results, potentially lasting up to a year with proper maintenance. Hyaluronic Acid and Profhilo procedures result typically last around 6 months.
Considerations:
Polynucleotide results take longer to show, with improvement gradually building over weeks. Hyaluronic Acid and Profhilo procedures offer quicker results, often noticeable within days.
Polynucleotides might be a better choice for those concerned with overall skin texture, regeneration, and long-lasting results. Hyaluronic Acid and Profhilo procedures might be preferable if you prioritise immediate hydration, subtle volumisation, and quicker visible effects.
Ultimately, the best choice depends on your individual needs and aesthetic goals. Consulting with a qualified skincare professional can help you determine which treatment is right for you. They can assess your skin concerns and desired outcome to recommend the most suitable option.
After Care
Aftercare
There is a recovery and healing period post Polynucleotides treatment.
During the first 48 hours it is advised not to expose the area treated to heat, sun, sun bed, UV-light and extreme minus temperatures. Avoid the use of sauna, or steam room, waxing, hair removal/bleaching, hair dye, AHA’s, BHA’s, Retinal, self-tanning lotions and non-mineral base make-up.
Do not massage or rub the area for 48 hours (cleansing the skin is fine) as this will disperse the pharmaceutical products.
No exercise or massage treatments for 72 hours after the treatment as this will disperse the pharmaceutical products.
Aftercare products will depend on your skin type and skin concerns.
For a healthier skin your skin care practitioner will guide you with a personlised home care skin regime.
It is a MUST to wear Sun Protection SPF 50+ daily.

Alexandra
Angela is simply the best. I’ve been one of her clients for nearly 7 years and I can’t recommend her more highly. She has tailor made me a bespoke milia removal/ face rejuvenation treatment and I wouldn’t be without it! She has so much experience and knowledge and never fails to work her magic. Her treatments are so much more than your bog standard facial, she knows exactly what your skin needs and explains everything along the way. I promise you won’t find any one better.
Imogen
Angela has been caring for my skin for the last 25 years. Her treatments are bespoke, addressing whatever is currently going on with my skin. I have a monthly triple treatment which seems to be exactly what my skin needs at the moment. During lockdown, my skin missed her amazing treatments & careful attention.
Leila
I went in having let my milia run riot during lockdown and I was super impressed to leave the treatment not only without a mark but with totally revived skin after the facial. I also love that there is no “paint by numbers” approach to the treatment, you feel that you’re getting an experience tailored to your skin’s needs. I have and would continue to recommend.
Jade
I have been going to Angela for years and she really knows my skin and what treatments to give … I totally trust her and have recommended her to many of my friends who also love her . HIGHLY RECOMMENDED XXX

Transformed my acne!
I have been coming to Emporium Treatments for almost a year and each time I leave, I’m even more in love with my skin. When I had my initial treatment with Angela, my skin was suffering from active acne and scarring. Angela provided a tailored treatment plan for myself, explaining every step clearly and since then my skin has improved dramatically. She has really helped with my overall confidence. I would highly recommend.
Chantelle
Angela always provides the best service, no matter which of the many treatments you choose. Booking is a breeze, and punctuality is proven. My chosen treatment was conducted quickly, professionally, and thoroughly. The results consistently exceed my expectations! I always look forward to my next appointment.
Lauren
Angela at Emporium is amazing!
I have recurring milia so I’m constantly coming to see her for extractions. Before my first visit she answered all of my questions and made me feel like she really cared before I’d even met her.
I have hundreds of milia and every session she has the patience of a saint, removing each one by hand.
It’s a bit of a painful procedure but she’s so lovely and friendly that I feel at ease the second I step through the door and she always works her magic quickly and carefully, using lots of cooling and soothing aftercare to help calm down my skin.
Over the years, she’s put so much time in to helping me work out what’s causing them and how to prevent future flare ups.
I have been to other places for milia removal in the past but Angela is by far the best (and more reasonably priced than some of the bigger companies). I wouldn’t even dream of going anywhere else now.

Emporium is my go to for facial treatments – Angela is one of London’s best kept secrets. Her technique is superb, far beyond what any branded beauty salon can do.

Five-star experience!
Couldn’t recommend Angela (Emporium) more highly! I’ve be going for bespoke facials for a number of years and have always felt a truly pampered. The facials are tailored to your skin type and she is *the best* at milia removal. Angela has always been able to accommodate appointments around my work schedule, and at short notice, and I’ve been more than happy to recommend to friends.
James
I’ve been going to Angela for the last 25/30 years. In between I’ve tried other places and practitioners but always end up going back to Emporium. Angela understands my skin, right from the beginning when I had acne and pigmentation to now where my skin needs are different. I appreciate her experience and knowledge, my skin looks and feels great. Highly recommend.
Kalyan
Angela’s facials have literally transformed my skin. I met Angela back in October last year, and my only regret is not going to see her sooner. My skin was ruined by a couple of badly chosen laser treatments earlier in the year and after my first facial with Angela I felt so much better about myself, she cleared my skin completely and made me love it again! I think I’m a little addicted to her treatments now, she knows a lot about skin care and tailors the facial to exactly what your skin needs. I’m so happy to have found her. 5/5 review from me!
