The ancient Egyptians used black seed and described it as a panacea (cure for many problems and diseases). Also known as the Blessed Seed, Black Seed is popular in the Middle and Far East.

Black seed oil is not recommended for use during pregnancy or lactation.
Consumption of the seeds and oil are very safe however contact dermatitis has been reported with use of the black seed oil topically in very rare cases.
Black seed is not recommended to be taken with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs). Some NSAIDs include naproxen, meloxicam, celecoxib and ibuprofen.
Black seed should not be taken in conjunction with medications which treat cardiovascular health conditions such as blood pressure medications. Some blood pressure medications include ACE inhibitors – enalapril, lisinopril, perindopril and ramipril, Angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs)- losartan, valsartan, Olmesartan, calcium channel blockers (CCBs) – amlodipine, and thiazide diuretics- indapamide and Bendroflumethiazide.
