What is a Trichologist?
A trichologist is a clinical specialist in hair and scalp health, trained to assess, diagnose, and treat conditions affecting both the hair and the scalp.
How do I get started?
The easiest way to begin is with a full Hair & Scalp Assessment. This provides an overview of current status and builds a structured treatment plan tailored to individual needs.
What hair and scalp conditions are assessed?
A wide range of concerns can be investigated, including:
- Androgenic alopecia
- Alopecia areata
- Scarring alopecias
- Telogen effluvium
- Traction alopecia
- Scalp inflammation, scaling, or irritation
- Postpartum and hormonal hair loss
- Nutritional deficiencies affecting hair growth
- Unexplained hair breakage
What causes hair and scalp conditions?
Contributing factors include genetics, hormonal changes, immune dysfunction, nutritional deficiencies, inflammation, microbiome imbalance, stress, and lifestyle triggers. In many cases, several of these factors overlap.
What does the Hair & Scalp Assessment involve?
A 45-minute consultation includes:
- A full review of your symptoms, history, and goals
- Clinical images using HD scalp imaging
- Scalp and follicle evaluation
- Blood test and diagnostic interpretation
- Personalised recommendations based on findings
- A clear plan of what to do next, whether that’s nutrition, lifestyle, topical care, or clinical treatments
What is Exosome Therapy?
Exosome therapy uses cell-derived vesicles rich in growth factors and signalling molecules. These communicate directly with the scalp environment, reducing inflammation, supporting regeneration, and stimulating follicle activity.
What is Medical-grade Mesotherapy?
Mesotherapy delivers clinically regulated peptides, hyaluronic acid, and vitamins into the scalp via micro-injection. Biomimetic peptides mimic natural repair signals, while cross-linked hyaluronic acid provides hydration and structural support. The formulation also allows for a time-delayed release of peptides and actives, ensuring extended stimulation and repair beyond the point of treatment.
Do injectables hurt?
There may be some minor discomfort during treatment. Procedures are usually well tolerated and completed within 15 minutes.
What if I’m unsure which service to book?
A 15-minute pre-assessment is available to discuss concerns and determine whether a full Hair & Scalp Assessment is required. The cost of the preassessment is fully redeemable against any service you book.
Do you work with children?
Paediatric and adolescent hair loss can be medically complex and is usually best assessed with input from dermatology or paediatrics. For this reason, services are not routinely offered to children. In cases where a child has already been referred by a dermatologist or paediatrician, an assessment may be considered.

After Care
There is a recovery and healing period post any needling treatment.
During the first 48 hours it is advised not to expose the area treated to heat, sun, sun bed, UV-light and extreme minus temperatures. Avoid the use of sauna, or steam room, waxing, hair removal/bleaching, hair dye, AHA’s, BHA’s, Retinal, self-tanning lotions and non-mineral base hair/scalp make-up.
Do not massage or rub the area for 48 hours (washing the hair is fine) as this will disperse the pharmaceutical products.
For a healthier scalp and hair your aesthetic practitioner will guide you with a personlised homecare regime.
