Acupuncture Awareness Week is a national campaign launched by the British Acupuncture Council (BACC) to highlight the benefits of traditional acupuncture.
In this article I will share with you of its powerful benefits and efficacy in practice.
Emporium Treatment Clinic offers a wide range of Acupuncture treatments in London
Acupuncture is a form of Traditional Chinese Medicine spanning thousands of years, where illness is seen as a disharmony of the whole body.
It is a beautiful ancient art of healing which involves the insertion of very thin needles through your skin at distinctive points on your body.
This modality of ‘Holistic Medicine’ is a powerful system of energy healing recognised by many cultures all over the world for centuries to restore harmony of the whole body.
Acupuncture has beneficial calming, relaxing affects, promoting physical and emotional balance and a very popular alternative approach to treat pain, regulate the body systems, manage stress and nervous related issues, and enhance overall wellness.
Typical Acupuncture Treatment
Acupuncture treatments in our London clinic being with a confidential, in-depth consultation is carried out, from which all your aspects of your health, including past medical history, diet, lifestyle, personality type, current health problems and emotional concerns.
You may remain fully or partially clothed and can receive the acupuncture needles while lying down and relaxed.
Your acupuncture practitioner will gently place her hands in various positions on your body followed by the insertion of the fine needle which are left in position between 15 – 30 minutes. You may feel a sensation of warmth, a dull ache or tingling once the needle enters the skin.
A well-developed acupuncture treatment procedure will help minimise the discomfort clients may experience during the needling insertion. The utmost care is taken to make it as comfortable as possible to ensure clients can effectively manage any discomfort.
Whilst perceptions of discomfort may vary from person to person and area of the body being treated, many clients comment that the procedure is far less uncomfortable than they had expected, that it is very manageable.
A healing treatment is usually very relaxing and can be an opportunity for emotional release, or you may simply fall asleep.
